William grew up in Leek, Staffordshire, and was one of those rare people who would do anything for anybody. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a grandson, a nephew and a friend — and to the people who knew and loved him, he was unforgettable.
He had an infectious smile, a huge love for animals, and cared deeply about his family and friends. He loved travelling and experiencing the world, including adventures to Canada and Thailand, but Leek was always an important part of his story.
William also struggled with his nerves and, like far too many people, did not always receive the support he needed when he needed it most.
On 8 April 2019, William attempted to take his own life. His heartbeat was restored and, after four days in hospital, William sadly died on 12 April 2019.
Even at the end of his life, William gave to others. Through organ donation, he went on to help save the lives of other people — an extraordinary final act from somebody who had spent his life caring about others.
